In 2008 the Longford SFC winner (Killoe) competed in Leinster Club IFC, and won the Leinster title, meaning a return to Leinster Club SFC from 2009. From 2015 to 2022 the Longford SFC winner competed in Leinster Club IFC. In 2022 Longford Slashers won the Leinster Club IFC and went on to win the All-Ireland Club IFC too. Since 2023 the Longford SFC winner competes in Leinster Club SFC competition.
