Club Titles (2011-2025)

Independent teams are combinations of two or more club units. This includes long term independent teams such as Ballymahon Forgney Gaels, Carrick Sarsfields, Northern Gaels and Southern Gaels as well as short term or in-year or competition-specific temporary combinations.

Independent Teams are formed when two or more teams are unable to field on their own in youth competition or U-21 competition, and seek permission from the County Board to compete as a combined entity. Also, when a club seeks permission for five or more players to play with another team, an Independent Team must be created. An Independent Team typically plays under, and is recognised by, the combined names of the two clubs in question or by an Independent name [GAA Guidelines]. In our assessment this includes longer term independent teams such as Ballymahon Forgney Gaels, Carrick Sarsfields, Northern Gaels and Southern Gaels as well as shorter term or in-year or competition specific temporary combinations.

Leitrim teams compete/competed in youth cross-border football and Longford hurling competitions.

Ardagh Moydow: Prior to the founding of the Ardagh Moydow club in 2019, the constituent clubs which united to form it had previously played together in a Group Team since 2016 as Ardagh/Moydow. Hence we include titles won by Ardagh/Moydow in the total for Ardagh Moydow but we do not include titles won by Ardagh St. Patricks or Moydow Harpers which are kept separate. Note that the group team from 2016 to 2018 had “/” in the name while the new Ardagh Moydow club does not. 

2025 Note:
U-21 ‘C’ Football Championship was 13-a-side and called U-21 Football Cup. 

2024 Notes:
U-14 Football League 2 was called U-14 ‘Intermediate’ in 2024.

ACFL Division 4: 2024 was the first year that a title existed for finishing top of the Division 4 table. No cup was actually available so an alternative temporary cup was presented on the day while a new cup for topping the division first appeared in 2025. The team topping Division 4 in 2024 (Fr. Manning Gaels) are not cited in the list of winners in the 2024 Convention Book, however on the assumption that the title existed in 2024 (albeit with no cup), we include it in our list of titles won. A new cup first appeared in 2025 and was first presented to Young Grattans who topped Division 4 in 2025. 

Youth Hurling: From 2024 the U-12, U-14, Juvenile and Minor Hurling Championships were replaced by Cup Competitions played on a league basis and involved clubs from Longford & Leitrim. We include these titles with previous Hurling Championships in their respective Roll of Honour.

2022 Note:
Mullinalaghta awarded Leader Cup after Colmcille could not fulfil the fixture, but club refused it.

2020 Note:
Many 2020 competitions did not start or finish due to Covid-19 pandemic.

2019 Note:
Juvenile A Championship final between Killoe and St. Colmcilles/St. Francis did not take place following a dispute.

2018 Note:
Leader Cup final between Mullinalaghta and Killoe was not played due to Leinster & All-Ireland club activity.

2016 & 2017 Note:
No Junior A Championship in 2016 & 2017 (replaced by Intermediate ‘B’).
Senior B Championship was called Senior Reserve Cup in 2016 & 2017. 

2012 & 2013 Note:
The Bertie Allen Cup in Division 2 was a Shield competition played for by the bottom teams in the Division.

General Notes:
– No winners for U-12 competition from 2023 onward (run as non-competitive GoGames).
– Some B Football Championship competitions are now called ‘Cup’ competitions instead.
– Ardagh Moydow founded in 2019 when Ardagh St. Patricks & Moydow Harpers merged.
– St. Patricks Óg was Ardagh St. Patricks youth, is now Ardagh Moydow youth.
– Clonguish Gaels is the hurling section of the Clonguish GAA Club.
– Wolfe Tones is the hurling section of the Mostrim GAA Club.
– LD/LM denotes Longford/Leitrim cross-border competition.
– (LM) denotes that the winner was a Leitrim team.

Grade Changes:
– U-21 Football changed to U-20 from 2018 to 2021 and back to U-21 from 2022.
– Minor Football changed to U-17 in 2021 & 2022 and back to U-18 from 2023.
– Juvenile Football changed to U-15 in 2021 & 2022 and back to U-16 from 2023.
– U-14 Football changed to U-13 in 2021 & 2022 and back to U-14 from 2023.
– Hurling changed from U-18, U-16, U-14 to U-17, U-15, U-14 from 2021-2023.
– Féile competition in football & hurling changed from U-14 to U-15 grade from 2021.
