Opponents in Leinster
Longford’s most frequent opponents have come from Laois (6 times), Wexford (5 times) and Meath (4 times) over the years. Amazingly all the games played by Longford clubs in Leinster Club Intermediate Championship from 2003 to 2023, all were played against different club opposition each time. This streak was eventually broken in 2024 when Fr. Manning Gaels play Crettyard from Laois, who had previously featured against Rathcline in the Leinster final in 2005. A Longford club has never played a Wicklow club in the competition.
